Don't Look Back
I said, "Don't look back,"But my son kept walking
With his head turned back
And a finger in his mouth.
Then he stumbled over a rock
And nearly fell to the ground.
"Look ahead, my son!"
I cautioned him again.
Then he turned his head
To look forward
And suddenly I realized
The truth in those words.
